ForeverGreen Organics Wool Cover

I am so excited to be sharing our next WAHM with you all--Jennifer, from ForeverGreen Organics.  Jennifer hand-crochets the most beautiful woolie covers.
But before I get into how wonderful her woolies are, here's a little more about her!
I asked her to tell us a little about herself and her family:
I live in San Diego CA with my husband, son (11mo), and dog. We live a super active lifestyle. Hiking & walks on the beach are our favorite things to do together. We are also a part of the organic grocery co-op in town; a goal of mine is to sell my items at the co-op, and to eventually expand to adult & homegood items.. With my main focus on baby items!

I also wanted to know a little more about how her shop got started:
I taught myself to crochet a few years ago (I had just moved to Texas from California with my husband and was having a hard time getting used to the state/people. I ended up picking up a hook and yarn trying to find something to do with myself to stay busy.) I was amazed at how fast I taught myself and was whipping up crochet items left and right! I was focusing mostly on baby items because our cousins were all having babies. About a year or so later I ended up being pregnant & we moved back to our hometown, San Diego, to be close to our family. I've always wanted to cloth diaper- so having a son just pushed me to learn more and more about cloth diapering. Once I learned about wool FOREVERGREEN ORGANICS came about! I knew I could make beautiful, functional Organic woolies.

And here's how her shop got it's name:
I chose the name Forevergreen Organics with sustainable living in mind. "forever green. for evergreen; from the earth, for the earth". I became obsessed with organics a few years ago, eating only organic foods, & became obsessed with wool/crochet. The two just mixed perfectly, and now I only work with organic fibres. I absoutely love producing organic handmade crochet items; the feeling of organic wool & organic cotton winding through my fingers gives me a great feeling of accomplishment, & I know it is what's best for baby.

So, now that you know a little about her and her shop, here's more about her beautiful covers.
Jennifer sent me this beautiful redwood, wool cover in size 2.

ForeverGreen Organics wool cover

The covers come in 4 different sizes (size 0/newborn, size 1, 2 and 3) based mostly on weight and size rather than age, which allows for a great fit.  She also has 6 different, gorgeous colors to choose from.  She uses organic wool, which, when you think wool, you may think it's like scratchy, itchy sweaters, but it's very soft and plush-not itchy at all.
The size 2 cover says it fits from 20-28lbs.  Here it is on my son, who's almost 25lbs:
after a full night of sleep
sweet, woolie bum
We get a great fit in this cover!  There's no gaping around the legs.

It also has a nice, high rise, so that the diaper isn't peeking out the top.
It isn't super trim, but not many wool covers are, especially because I usually put a bulky, nighttime diaper underneath it.

sorry it's a little blurry!
19 month old boys don't like to stop for pictures :)

The craftsmanship of the cover is amazing.  The stitches are so even, and I can't even find any seams!
And even though he's getting near the top of the weight range, I think we'll be able to use this for quite a while longer.  The waist is nice and stretchy, so we have no issues pulling this up.  I have noticed that after using it almost every night for the last two weeks, the waist is starting to stretch out a little, but this happens with all our woolie covers, and I know next time I wash it, I can just re-shape it a little when it's wet.

When I first got the cover, I fell in love with the fit and the overall look of it, but I was wondering how it would work overnight because it doesn't have an extra layer in the wet-zone.  As I've mentioned before, my son is a very heavy wetter at night, so I was a little concerned as to how this cover would work with a super wet diaper underneath.  Well, I shouldn't have been worried.  This cover is amazing!!  The first night I used it, my son drank a huge glass of milk right before bed, so I knew the next morning he'd be super wet.  I decided that I may as well try the cover and put it to the test.  And it passed with flying colors!!  The fitted diaper underneath was soaked completely through-even the back of it was soaked.  And his pajamas were completely and totally dry!  Not even damp!  I was blown away!!  And ever since then, we've used it most nights, and have woken up absolutely, completely dry.  It's amazing.

I would recommend these covers to anyone who cloth diapers.  If you've never tried wool before, this is a great cover to begin with!  The price is economical, it's organic, and they work wonderfully.  And lucky for all of you, Jennifer is giving away one of her covers!  It's a size 1 (fits approx. 12-21lbs) in the color toffee.  Be sure to enter below and get a chance to win one of these lovely covers!  She's also offering a discount of 10% off her entire store, so even if you don't win the prize, you can still get a deal!  Use the code REVIEW10 at checkout.

I would love to try these! My daughter only had two wool covers, that she's since grown out of. She's 16 months old, so it'd be nice to try before the diaper days are over. *sniff*

I LOVE the eggplant, but since I don't know if we are having a boy or girl, the natural or avocado are great too!
