When I first started researching cloth diapers I had never heard of, or even considered, cloth wipes. Once I heard about them and started thinking about the benefits to my budget and the environment, cloth wipes just made a ton of sense. I also love that I'm not wiping chemicals on Ava's bum with each change. Personally I think that if you use cloth diapers, then it is just easier to also use cloth wipes! There isn't much extra work involved if you're already doing a load of diaper laundry anyway, and with cloth wipes you don't have to worry about having a separate place to put used disposable wipes. Cloth wipes are a great way to go green without much extra effort.
When I contacted Sweet Bobbins to see if she would like to do a review with us during Earth Month, she offered to send me a 12 pack of cloth wipes in my choice of gender and theme. I chose a girly woodlands theme, and got twelve adorable wipes! Sweet Bobbins also sells flat diapers, blankets, crib sheets, wet bags, unpaper towels, nursing covers, and more. Make sure to check out the awesome products she makes!
Don't you just love these prints? Sweet Bobbins' wipes are flannel on top and organic bamboo velour on the bottom. They are so plush and soft! The prints have held up great through many washes are aren't getting faded really at all.
I use cloth wipes not only for diaper changes, but also for dirty hands, noses, and really anything that Ava manages to get dirty! These Sweet Bobbins wipes are my favorite for her nose because the bamboo velour is so soft and gentle on her skin. I also love the velour side for changing dirty diapers. It is soft, but has enough texture to get her bum nice and clean!
These wipes have quickly become some of the most reached for ones that we have, and I am excited to tell you that Sweet Bobbins has offered to give away a set of 12 wipes in the winner's choice of gender and theme! Enter in the form below.

Chunky Monkey Creations - Wipes Case
When it comes to cloth diapering out and about, I feel like most cloth diapering mamas have a pretty easy time taking diapers and wet bags out, but wipes are another story. I use cloth wipes at home and love them, but I've never figured out a way to take them out with me. So, I always have a small little package of disposable wipes I take along in my purse or diaper bag for diaper changes and messy faces. But I hate buying them because I have so many reusable, cloth wipes at home. Well, I no longer need to buy wipes from the store since I have one of Chunky Monkey Creations' adorable wipes cases!!
Erika, the Mama behind Chunky Monkey Creations, opened her shop in September of 2011. She loved making custom crafts, and found a way to open up the online store, along with teaching full time, and being a wife and mama! Erika married her high school sweetheart, and they have two boys, one up in heaven (Cristian), and one here on earth (Maxim). And that's how Chunky Monkey Creations got their name. They wanted to use the initials CM for their boys, and as a chubby little baby, Maxim got the nickname "Chunky Monkey," and the name fit perfectly! They live in lovely Arizona, and in her free time, when she's not grading papers, crafting, and spending time with her boys, she loves window shopping :)
Chunky Monkey Creations is all hand-made, and she has a variety of wipes cases, children's clothing, hair bows, and even superhero capes! Erika was kind enough to send me one of her adorable wipes cases.
I absolutely love it. The craftmanship is amazing. It's padded, the edges area all attached perfectly, and the prints she has are so cute! It's actually made out of a recycled Huggies wipes case (which I love that she reuses them!!), so it stays shut tight and doesn't let your wipes dry out.
I've been using it for my wipes while we're out and about, but I also thought you could use it for crayons/coloring supplies while you're out. And Erika also suggested using it for a first aid kit, or even feminine products. The ideas are endless!
But, as I said, I've been using it for the last few weeks for wipes. It's a Huggies container, so it's big enough to fit about 8 cloth wipes. I've just been getting the wipes damp before putting them in there, and they stay damp for a few days! Just be careful in leaving wet wipes in there so they don't get mildewy. It's been so handy to have the wipes available while we're out, without having to use disposables, and I just toss the dirty wipes in the wet bag with my diapers.
Overall, I absolutely love this wipes case. It's so cute and convenient, and makes using cloth wipes while out and about so easy. It also has so many other uses and a great way to keep diaper bags and purses organized.
Luckily for you guys, Erika is offering a 20% discount on her shop! Just use the code: CLOTHDIAPERADDICT at checkout. Be sure to check out her shop; I know you'll find something you'll love!

Sheepish Grins Washy Wafers Review & Giveaway
Hello all!
Justine from Fluff Envy was awesome enough to send me a package of Sheepish Grins Washy Wafers to review! I was really excited to try these, seeing as how I told you about my epic fail making my own wipes solution. I still hold to the fact that it's because I didn't know to change the solution on a regular basis. Nonetheless, something that came pre-done and would make my life easier, was very exciting!
The Sheepish Grins Washy Wafers come in small wafers that dissolve quite quickly in a cup of hot water. The package says 1-2 wafters per cup of water. The first time I used them, I used one cup of water and one wafer. I found that one cup was not quite enough for 12 wipes in the wipes warmer. Less than 24 hours later, things weren't even really damp. The next time I made them, I used 1 1/2 cups of water and 2 wafers and had much better success!
Because they are so small, the process of putting water into the microwave and then dissolving the wafer in that water, took mere minutes! (I did not put the wafer in the microwave as there have been several studies showing how microwaves can damage the structure of things...which is another discussion entirely. Just thought I'd point out that I only heated the water.)
After the wafer is dissolved, you wait for it to cool and put into a spray bottle or pour it over your wipes in a wipes warmer.
This is the first time I've used the warmer and it really is helpful to have wet wipes ready to go when I need them. Add the convenience of a wipes solution that is pretty much ready to go and the process so easy it's now part of our daily routine! I did try it in the spray bottle, and that definitely works too. However, my little lady is not a fan of the solution being sprayed directly on her bottom. =) If I'm going to use a solution like this (and I am!), it makes sense to me to keep wet wipes in the wipes warmer. If you have a larger house than I do (very likely!), I could see the benefit of a spray bottle at a second changing location. Small spray bottles can be purchased in lots of different places and would be a handy way to use cloth wipes while you're out and about.
