Welcome to Tip Toes! Located in Holland, MI, Tip Toes is one of the cutest stores I have ever been to. Not only do they carry cloth diapers but a vast array of organic and locally made goodies as well. I recently took (another) visit to Tip Toes so I could share it with you!
When you first walk into the store, you see color everywhere. There is so much to see and do in the store (even a fun spot for kids). As soon as you step in, you see a section dedicated to newborns. There are so many adorable things. Not only do they have blue and pink but they also have a large quantity of gender neutral clothing for those like me who didn't want to know the sex of their baby before he/she was born.
Keep walking and you'll come to the next section for toddler clothing and next to that is the big kids clothes. Tip Toes had several requests to expand their clothing selection to larger sizes and that is what they did! They appreciate feedback and take action on it! Everything is incredibly cute and unique. Most of the clothing in the store, I have not seen anywhere else.
In the middle of the store is every little girls dream closet. They have hundreds of bows, clippies and headbands to choose from as well as cute hats and leggings. My 4 year old daughter spent a solid ten minutes looking at this area before I told her we had a whole store to browse though! :)
One of my family's favorite thing to do it read. So when we came to this section, I was excited to see a lot of books that we didn't already have (and we have a lot!) This picture doesn't even show a small part of what they carry.
Here is a small section of the toys that they carry. They have a lot of Melissa and Doug brand which is a favorite at our house as well.
And this is what Tip Toes is famous for among children! They have a tree house right in the middle of the store! Kids can play and climb on it and have a lot of fun.
Another weakness of mine is shoe shopping for my daughters. How can you resist when everything is so cute!
Cloth Diaper Time!!
When Tip Toes opened in 2006, they carried bumGenius exclusively. Since then, they have expanded to Bummis, flips and for a while carried TrendLab.
I got to speak with Deb, one of Tip Toes managers, and she was very knowledgeable with cloth diapering. If you haven't used cloth before, she would be a great resource while you were shopping there!
Tip Toes currently carries Bummis prefolds, Easy Fits (and tinis), wraps(covers) and wetbags. One of my favorites is the Easy Fits so I was excited to see that this was popular here too.
They also carry the Flip system. I personally have not used flips but have heard a lot of good things about them. You can also see they carry bumGenius detergent and diaper sprayer.
All the diapering goodness! In the middle is their section of bumGenius diapers. They carry mainly pockets, however, they just recently started stocking the Organic BG Elementals (an AIO diaper).
One thing I love about being able to shop in a brick and mortar store is that you can pick up and touch the diapers and see how they work. Tip Toes has one of each style that they carry for you to "try" out.
The staff at Tip Toes is very friendly, knowable about everything in the store and excited to help you in your search. They also participate in a lot of community activities as well. Overall, I enjoy my visits every time I go there! Tip Toes is a great place to get not only your cloth diapers but anything else you may need for your little one!
Tip Toes gave me the opportunity to review one of the bumGenius AIO Elementals. The verdict? I love it! The diaper is one sized and my daughter is 8 months old so we still use the smallest size setting. Because the "inserts" are attached, it may be confusing as to how to get them to fit inside when it is so small. I just fold it over top of itself (about an inch or so) and align that toward the front for optimal absorption. We used it for daytime and nighttime and had great results for both. During the day, we had no leaks what so ever. She even wore it a little longer (3 hours) than I normally leave in a cloth diaper(2 hours). For night, I could probably keep her in it til morning, however, she is sick and has been wanting a bottle in the middle of night. I change her just in case! The fit is great, even on my skinny mini and my toddler son. My son is potty training so he didn't want to actually wear a "cwuaffa diaper" so we just tried it on for size.
Disclaimer: I received a bumGenius Elemental for review at no cost. This is my honest review of this diaper. All opinions are my own and you may have a different experience. I was not paid for my opinions. Tip Toes is offering a bumGenius elementals as a giveaway.
