Hello all! My name is Joy.
I'm really excited for the opportunity to be a contributor on Cloth Diaper Addiction. I wanted to take some time and introduce myself and my sweet family to you. I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you as well!
I'm a very busy mama to three very busy youngsters! I'm completely in love with my husband - we've been together for almost 10 years now (married for 6 1/2) and I can't get enough of him. I also love the Lord with all of my heart and try to serve Him in all that I do. I don't fit nicely into any one specific work category - I'm a SAHM 95% of the time, a WAHM 2.5% of the time, and employed part time the remaining 2.5%! For "me time" I LOVE scrapbooking, baking, and reading. My favorite treat is a Pumpkin Spice Latte (anyone have any Starbucks connections?!?!) which fits me perfectly since I was made for the Fall.
Our oldest is Aiden - a 5 year old energetic bundle of...well...energy! He keeps us hopping! He's followed closely by his sister Bethany. Bethany is 3 1/2 and such a little love. She loves to help mama out in any way she can (and sometimes in ways that are unhelpful too!). Our "baby" is growing too big too fast - Ella is 9 months old and super sweet (when she's not teething!). We are very blessed that all three siblings love each other to pieces. As you can imagine, things are a bit chaotic right now - but it's a fun and blessed adventure!
Our cloth diapering adventure started a year ago last August. Bethany was 2 1/2 years old and not quite ready to potty train (or rather, mommy was pregnant and wasn't up for the challenge...). My husband lost his job (for 6 months) and spending money on diapers seemed ridiculous. I bought my first two diapers (BumGenius 4.0 in snaps and a Thirsties Duo Diaper) to use overnight. We were then blessed beyond belief to be able to borrow a set of 12 BG diapers to use during the day. What a life saver! Then when Ella was born, I was blessed with a LOT of disposable diapers (dear friends that knew Nate was unemployed and wanted to help) and used those...until...I was SICK of the amount of times she exploded out of those diapers - yuck. I was SO ready to cloth diaper full time...I never expected to feel that way! I've never looked back. =)
I'm excited to share this journey with you - discovering new things and learning along the way!
