Here's a really fun (and yummy!) spring treat to make with your kiddos!
Needed:
40 marshmallows
3 T. butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
6 c. Rice Krispies
Candy mini eggs (we used Whoppers)
Peeps!
Oh yeah, and little helpers!
Melt the butter and marshmallows for 2 minutes, stir, microwave for one more minute, then stir well again.
Stir in peanut butter until smooth. Add Rice Krispies and stir in well.
Spray muffin tins (24 total) with cooking spray. Scoop about 1/4 c. into each tin.
Using a mini-tart shaper (mine is from Pampered Chef - you could just indent it with your hands) make a small indent in the middle of each "nest." This is where your eggs will go.
*If you have peanut allergies, regular Rice Krispie treats will totally work.*
My 5 year old counting out the marshmallows - see? Math!
Then the littler one sorted the egg colors for me - more math!
After that they had fun putting 4 eggs in each nest.
You can tell who did what - blue/white vs. yellow/pink!
One finished tray:
The final step is to put a cute Peep on each nest of eggs. =) Sadly, that picture had major issues uploading. I'm sure you can imagine it though! The kiddos LOVE helping out in the kitchen, and I love having seasonally appropriate crafts! Enjoy!
