Mud Butt Cloth Diapers

I am thrilled to bring you another amazing WAHM today: Carrie of Mud Butt Cloth Diapers. Carrie was fantastic to work with, and after skimming our blog and reading my un-love of velco/aplix/hook & loop, asked me to give her Touch Tape Closure diapers a try. I agreed, since I had heard such fantastic things about her diapers (from our amazing fans on Facebook!) So...read ahead to see what I thought, but not without a little background!

Her ordering process is incredibly easy. Here is a "screen shot" (thank you camera phone, haha!) of my order - a one-size AI2 with Ice Blue Giraffes and Brown touch Tape (I asked for Sky Blue rise snaps, but she said they wouldn't match all that well, so we opted for Silver!) and an AI2 Microfiber/Zorb Insert. The total pops right up and you are golden!
Then comes the fun part! If you follow Mud Butt Cloth Diapers on Facebook, you get to watch your diaper come to life as she posts photos and an update of the batch she is working on!

The following updates are for my Ice Blue Giraffe OS AI2!
Feb3 - Tonight's Progress Report: 13 dipes cut and snaps and touch tape ready to go for tomorrow! Now on to some listing work! Have a great night everyone!

Feb4: Tonight's progress report: 15 diapers snapped and touch tape panels sewn. Now it's on to working on some of the listings that will become available on the 8th: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Designer Jean Mud Butt
Feb7: Tonight's Progress Report: 14 diapers stitched and ready for top-stitching, elastic and tags tomorrow!
Feb9: Tonight's progress report: The rest of the diapers from this batch were topstitched and got their elastic and tags. Also was able to stitch up a bunch of wipes. Next progress report will be Saturday or Sunday!

Tonight's Progress Report: 14 diapers DONE plus about 50 wipes! Tomorrow on to getting all of these packaged up and shipped out Monday!

It was so fun to check each day and see what was happening with my diaper!

Even more fun, was when it arrived! There she is in all her chocolate brown touch tape/silver rise snap, glory! And let me just say - squishy soft. And this isn't the cheap feeling PUL either - it's the heavy duty, good stuff. Love it.
A close up of those adorable giraffes!
The front and hip touch tape (I know...you're on the edge of your seat wondering what I thought...wait for it...) I do love that Carrie, again from reading, knew that my youngest had an itty bitty waist. She emailed to see if I would be interested in the touch tape being cross-over to accommodate his teeny waist. Yes. Please. And Thank you!!! The inside of the diaper with the snap-in AI2 soaker. This is about as soft as it gets. I mean. Seriously. I sat and patted it for the longest time when it arrived!
The snap in Soaker - close up of front: And back...
And where the soaker snaps into the diaper:Wait....did you see that? That's right....there is a POCKET! So for the super soaker child, you can throw in even more absorbency and go all night!

Carrie went the extra mile and threw in a couple of terry/flannel wipes, too! They are the perfect size for small messes (or spring-time pollen-induced runny noses!) And incredibly soft and cute!
This diaper alone with the provided soaker can go a long time. We tried it out at church when we had to be there all morning (8:30am-1pm) and it stood the test with out batting an eye. It is so trim, (and did I mention so soft??!!!) I had no problem getting Caedmon's jeans up and over!
A very snug fit too, and no red marks on his sweet legs to speak of, even when in it all night.

I did pack the pocket with a hemp doubler and let the diaper on all night - perfection. Not even damp around the legs.

And just because it's so squishable:As you can see, my little dude doesn't have that itty-bitty waist any more! Yay!
And the verdict on the Touch Tape...If you have been a reader of our blog for anytime, you know that I much prefer snaps - any day. But Carrie's touch tape is solid. I'm a believer! It has worked so much better than typical aplix/hook & loop - no snagging, and it actually stays fixed to the wash tabs during washing (imagine that!!) Also, even with MANY washes, I have yet to find any 'fuzzies' left over in the touch tape as well!

Carrie doesn't just make AI2's, she also has pockets and can make them with OBV or Suedecloth as well!

If you're looking for a solid diaper with a variety of custom options, you definitely need to check out Mud Butt Cloth Diapers! Visit on Facebook and let Carrie know that CDA sent you!

I've been wanting to try one of her cute diapers for a long time. I thought it was so neat when some of her diapers became part of Go Green's line too.

I am in love with her denim look "designer jeans" diaper with the pockets on the butt.

I also LOVE her tools design.
