Under Cover Month

I am excited to share with you that we are in the works of bringing to our readers a month "Under Cover". What is this you are wondering. Let me share with you all the exiting details.

We currently have planned for the month of March to be our "Under Cover" month. We are going to have it take place the 3 full weeks. Week one will be all about fitteds. The next week will feature prefolds/flats and the third week will feature covers. We are hoping to get at least one sponsor for each day of the week for each week. I get asked quite a bit about fitteds and prefolds. I think pockets and AIO's are the most popular and the most shared item across blogs and that is how I came up with this idea of doing a month of information about what you can put under a cover, how to use the items and other fun information.

"Under Cover" will take place March 6 through 26. Three full weeks of information to fill your minds with great products, tips, and more.

Week one: Fitteds-We are going to shine the spotlight on fitted diapers. Bring you different styles, looks, and information about fitteds as well as some giveaways.
Week two: Prefolds (and Flats)- We are hoping to teach you the how too's with prefolds. I get asked plenty of times how to use a prefold and hopefully we can answer some questions, show you some great brands and give some away!
Week three: Covers- We are going to share with you some great covers, what we like best as far as features go in a cover and give some away!

On the twelfth day of Clothmas

On the twelfth day of Clothmas Cloth Diaper Addiction gave to me:

I love having the outside pocket to keep clean diapers in for when I'm gone all day. That way my diapers (clean and dirty) are all in one place but separate from each other!

Grandma El's Diaper Rash remedy and prevention is giving away a tube of their easy dispensing diaper rash cream. I really like how Grandma El's works when my boys have rashes...plus is smells good!

On the eleventh day of Clothmas

A grab bag of Baby Legs and a Budget Bottoms Diaper!

Crunchy Angel would like to offer a reader a Budget Bottoms Diaper. I also had the opportunity to use and review one of these diapers. I was sent a microfiber insert and a hemp insert to try out. In the picture below you will see on the top left side the hemp insert. It is two pieces sewn at the ends and open in the middle to help with drying time. The top right picture is of the microfiber insert that is lined with fleece. It is placed inside of the diaper. There are two pieces to the inserts. A wider rectangle and a T shaped insert. They both snap into the over. The bottom two pictures in this block show a neat feature of this diaper. When you have the rise on the smallest setting you can snap up the tabs to help get a better fit for the smaller baby.
The top left picture shows the tabs folded up and the diaper on a smaller setting. The top right shows the diaper on the medium rise setting. There are 4 snaps across the diaper that you use to adjust the rise with. You can see in the bottom left picture, white that goes across the top front of the diaper. You fold that part down and snap together, then you fold that part back against the baby so that the inside material of the diaper stays on the inside. The last picture shows the cross over tabs.

Here is the diaper on my 6 month old. It is pretty trim.

My experience with this diaper:
This diaper was really hard for me to figure out. There are two inserts you snap onto the cover to use, one in the front the other in the back. The two inserts can also snap together. The rise on this diaper is also quite different than other diapers I have tried. Instead of the three rows of snaps that you just snap together, you have two rows that you can either snap up or down and then you can fold the front in. Once I finally figured out how to adjust everything I was pretty happy with this diaper. I love the cross over snaps feature. I also like that you can reuse the cover if your little one just pees. I haven't had any leaks with this diaper yet which is good. One thing I wouldn't mind seeing with this diaper would be wider inserts. In one of the pictures you can see that there is a lot of cover open when the insert is snapped in. That cover then touches the baby's skin. Its not the plasticy material on the PUL that touches the baby but a softer cotton material.

Baby Dipper Bowl review

I had seen the Baby Dipper Bowl online quite a bit recently and had to check it out for myself. Especially since Z starting solids and lets just say he likes to eat and if you don't get the food in his mouth quick enough he gets mad and start grabbing for things. So this bowl would allow me to have more more hand, something all mothers need.

The bowl comes with a cute little fork and spoon that matches and fits nicely into the corners of the bowl.

Here is what the creator of the Baby Dipper Bowl has to say about her creation:

I was thinking that to accomplish one-handed feeding, the bowl should not slide around on the table and it should aid in the collection of the baby food. A non-slip bottom surface would keep it from sliding. A sloped interior surface and a spoon-shaped collection point would help gather the food down to the last bite. Also, adding to those features, vertical sides would help push food onto the spoon and transparent sides would allow the food to be seen easily by both the parent and the child. The bowl I designed has proven to make feeding much easier for parents and even for toddlers trying to spoon-feed themselves. The patented Baby Dipper bowl is truly unique in the marketplace and hopefully will help parents everywhere.

My experience with this product:
-I love the rubber grip on the bottom this is great for when you have to mix rice or oatmeal in the morning and you are holding a baby in one arm and have a toddler pulling on your legs and need the extra help. The rubber grip keeps the bowl in place so that you can mix your cereal together well.
-The grip is also handy for when you are trying to feed your baby and need the extra hand. Z is now at the stage where he has to grab for the spoon and the food. He knows his food and wants it faster than you can give it to him. I have had times where I wasn't using this bowl and he stuck his hand in the food...messy! So with this bowl you can keep it on the table, out of reach, and have the extra free hand to keep your baby from grabbing the spoon and flinging food every where. Plus its nice for when you are trying to feed baby and you have your toddler on your lap and your using one had to keep him from falling and the other hand has the spoon...where does the bowl go? On the table and you don't have to worry about the bowl sliding everywhere while your trying to get food on the spoon. It stays put.
-One thing that this bowl has is a higher end and a lower end. This is to help let gravity do what its ment to do. The food should slide down the slope into the lower end where their spoon fits nicely and can scoop up the food. I found this works well with stage 1 and 2 foods because they are runnier, the oatmeal and rice cereal, depending on how thick you make it might not do this and you do have to do a little scraping of the dish to get the food. I haven't tried stage 3 foods yet with Z so I'm not sure how well they would do with the slope.
-This is also a nice bowl to have for your toddler when they are eating food. It stays in place (if they allow it) and the slop helps them with scooping up the food with out using their fingers.
-One thing I didn't like about this set was the spoon. I found it was really deep for my baby when he was starting out eating and that I needed to use a flatter spoon that would fit better into his mouth. The spoon is better fit for a bigger baby child that has the eating skill figured out.
