MonkeyFoot Designs

Monkey Foot Designs

If you are anything like me, you have an addiction to cloth diapering. Even worse though, is my addiction to wetbags. You can find wetbags in as many or possibly more prints than diapers and they have a zillion uses! I absolutely love wetbags! I discovered Monkey Foot Designs wetbags by pure luck and I am more than happy I did! These bags, made by Kristen, are probably the best I have ever seen.

This is the beauty and some of the extras that Kristen sent me. It is a double pocket bag in Eco Love print. (In this picture it is folded in quarters) She also sent a nice note and her business cards.

***Update: the bag I was sent for review was a large double pocket wetbag***

A close up of the print. My daughter loves it too!

Here is the bag unfolded. There is a full zipper across the top and the pocket goes the entire length of the bag down. The second pocket starts at the top of the white print. There is a single strap/handle that is thick and quilted. It is very durable.

Here is a close up of the strap. It is thick and soft. You could carry this around full and heavy and the strap will support it and not dig into your shoulder!

The clips where the straps attached are high quality and will not bend or break. The strap easily detaches for washing. The strap is sewn to attach on the back of one side and the front of the other so that is stays balanced.

The prints for this bag work so well together and are much more bright and vibrant in real life. They bag has such a good overall quality to it because it is made by a WAHM and each one is meticulously made unlike several of the major diaper companies. Here is a close up of the double pocket.

This is a picture of the quality put into these bags. The stitches are done extremely well and I didn't find any flaws at all! Everything is tight, smooth and precisely executed.

Here is a picture of the inside where the strap is attached. She made sure to give it that extra bit of security by doing additional stitching.

Both pockets opened. You can get an idea of how big these pockets can get and how much they can hold. Each pocket is completely waterproof so it can be used for dirty diapers and wet clothes or as a wet/dry bag. We often used this for keeping dirty clothes separate from the diapers so when we got home, I didn't have to pick through stinky messes to sort them into the proper baskets. I could just open it up and dump!

The bag is super trim even though it is super squishy and has so many layers. It folds up nicely to fit into a diaper bag. The strap is also adjustable so you can have it long enough to drape over a stroller or short enough to carry around your arm.

Cute tag alert!

Overall:
This is probably the most perfect wetbag I have ever used. The quality of it is amazing. It is super soft, contained all messes and smells, holds more than I could ever need in a day trip. This size would be great for a vacation or an over night trip. I am bummed that I never got a picture of us out and about with the bag but we did get a good cloth diaper discussion started with a stranger because she asked about this wetbag!

Monkey Foot Designs also sells several other sizes (from xs snacker bags all the way up to XXL!). She also sells single pocket bags, pail liners, kitchen/stroller bags and the prints are absolutely adorable!

Bags, bags, every where

We have a slew of wet bags in our house. We use them all the time, for everything.

I shared a few weeks ago about the wet bag in our kitchen for our unpaper towels. It is one of my favorite bags we have - so well made and has held up great!

I also have a small Leslie's Boutique Grab-n-go wet bag in our bathroom for more, um, personal things. One of the few things in a house full of boys that I can claim is all mine. Ha!
Then there are the diaper wet bags. We have such a wide variety for the boys - all shapes, sizes and styles.

Our main wet bag for Benjamin hangs in the big boys bathroom. It's a Mother of Eden bag (technically a "Hanging Diaper Pail") and it is HUGE! A friend gave it to us when she was done cloth diapering and I thought I had hit the jackpot. Two years later (for us. She stopped using it about 4 years ago) it is still going strong. (You can see it hanging next to the duck tub - that's how big it is).
Our main wet bag for Caedmon is a Large Planet Wise hanging bag in Green Meadow and hangs in our bedroom where he sleeps and we do his diaper changes. I love that it is a hanging bag with the snapping handle - it makes things so convenient to hang on a number of things (doorhandle, corner of the pack & play, a dresser handle, etc...).
We also have a medium Leslie's Boutique bag that also hangs. We start with the Planet Wise bag, and when that fills up, we start in on the Leslie Boutiques bag.
And then on to the "out & about" bags...

We have a Size 1 Applecheeks Storage Sac. This has a drawstring and we use it for our middle sons' church bag (he has to take an extra diaper and change of clothes). It works great! I was really worried that it wouldn't hold in major wetness (past just wet diapers, since I've never used it for such), but we used it the other night after a trip to the lake for soaked clothes and the bag was still dry after a 40 minute drive!
We also have an Itzy Ritzy Wet Happened? bag in Whale Watching Blue - another bag that is fantastic. The waterproof liner is super thick, and the outer cotton fabric is heavy and solid and has held up amazingly. This bag is usually in my bag for Caedmon (and since it is super cute, if I just have him and my purse, I slip it in there with a change of clothes, wipes and a diaper).
Finally, we have a bag that I won in a giveaway and I can't find a name anywhere on it (!!) - whatever this bag is, it is great as well! It also hangs, but doesn't have a snap, so it is limited as to where it can be hung. (forgive the 'action shot', it was in use!)
Wet bags are always being used around here. I love that it's a cloth diaper item that anyone can use!

Do you have a favorite wet bag in your stash?
If you don't use wet bags, what is keeping you from trying?

Fuzzibunz Pail Liner

Not only did Fuzzibunz send me their OS diaper to try out but their awesome pail liner as well! I have tried a few different pail liners but this one has an extra neat feature! Keep reading to find out about it!

The liner is embroidered with their logo on it.
It is nice and big and should easily fit into any pail. But it can also hang on a door knob or something of the like. Here is my liner nice and full of dirty diapers.

I will hang this sometimes on the changing table for wet diapers to go into or I will put it on the closet door or bathroom door for dirty clothes. This liner features a zipper across the bottom so instead of reaching in to pull out dirty diaper you simply have to unzip the bottom of the bag and throw the whole thing in. Pretty awesome LinkLinkif I do say so my self! I really like this liner. I have used it in numerous ways to hold my diapers and haven't had any issues with it. I love the size of this as well. It can easily fit 3 days worth of diapers inside of it.

Find a Fuzzibunz retailer near you to purchase a pail liner.

Sweet Slings: Kitchen Wetbag Review

I recently made the switch in my kitchen to go as paperless as possible. I had made some large hanging hand towels, but confess that I was a bit too lazy to make a couple dozen cloth napkins. So in the spirit of supporting the WAHF (family), I got a couple sets off Etsy.

My next concern was what to do with the dirty napkins and towels, without making half a dozen trips to laundry baskets throughout the day. I wanted a wet bag (since some towels/napkins/rags do get wet in cleaning up the kitchen) and I needed to be able to hang it. While browsing Etsy, I saw this little cutie in the Sweet Slings shop:
I knew that it was exactly what I wanted: A hanging wet bag, cute print and large enough to hold a couple days' worth of napkins and towels.
This has been great for our switch! Not only does the wet bag add a splash of color to our drab kitchen, as well as provide a conversation piece, I am able to throw in dirty towels and napkins as needed. I can go approximately 3-4 days between washings and my routine is barely messed with! And the print is perfect for a kitchen!
The wet bag itself is excellently made. Shanna has sewn the bag so the PUL (the waterproof material) doesn't come out in the wash (one less thing to 'stuff' in this cloth diaper house!)
The snaps/straps stay out of the way, and easily move across the stove handle as needed.

And the size of the bag is perfect - 13inches wide by 20inches tall. If you're looking to green up your kitchen, while not a necessity, this wetbag will definitely make things easier!

Disclaimer: I purchased my own wet bag for use in our home. I was not compensated in any way for this review. All opinions are my own and you may have a different experience.

Monkey Foot Designs

Each day I am always eager to check my mail to see what goodies I might find. When I received my package from Monkey Foot Designs I was thrilled! For starters, I not only have a cloth diaper addiction but a wet bag addiction as well. I have at least 7 wet bags and 3 pail liners. But I have a good excuse... I use them for EVERYTHING! So I opened my package up knowing this would be for our 'Earth Week' and was in awe! The bag came folded nicely and tied with a string with little cards tied to it telling about the bag and the company.
I carefully opened it up to see the print. IN LOVE! I have to say that having 2 boys and of course my hubby in the house has kind of made me go green and blue so to speak. Everything I buy even shirts for myself are of blues and greens. I need some more color in my life! So then I got this bag with all these bright beautiful colors and shall we say incredible print and I was stoked! I now own something nice and colorful and slightly girly although still boy appropriate.
Check it out: This bag is the medium size. It has a neat handle/strap that snaps open and shut for easily attaching to what ever. It also has a nice strong zipper on it.
The inside of the bag is a nice strong material. Its not a typical PUL like you would find in your cloth diapers. They use a material called ProCare Lining.
I love this wet bag and have found many different purposes for it.
What do I think?
-I am in love! I truly love this wet bag. It it was larger it would be my main wet bag for diapers. I have used this bag for snacks (pictured above), sippy cups they 'claim' to be spill proof but are not. I have used this for our wet bag when little guy is in the church nursery. I love that its small enough that I can snap it onto the outside of my diaper bag, stroller or whatever I need to and it doesn't get in the way. The quality of this bag is great and I haven't had one single issue with it. I recommend if you are looking for a great wet bag, made of great materials, and that has beautiful prints you check out Monkey Foot Designs! Oh and you can use this wet bag for cloth wipes and mama cloth, nursing pads etc, it is the perfect size!

While browsing around on Monkey Foot Designs I found a section that said: "Psst... did you hear that MFD wet bags are being used by NASA's astronauts on the Space Station? Check it out HERE!" I mean how AWESOME is that! Great article by the way, you should go read it!
