Then when they are done cooking you will need to let them cool completely other wise when you put them in the bag they will get moist and stick together. Which makes it hard to get them out.
Here are the frozen pancakes.
I have also done this before with waffles. He loves to eat these to except when you put these in the toaster they burn in the little squares where it is so thin.
If you like to save money or like to know what your kid is eating this is a great thing to do. I have in the past made jello and pudding and put them in small tupperware bowls then just keep them in the fridge. They make great lunch items and its way cheaper to make them than buy a 4 pack of pudding cups from the store.
Here is my sons breakfast from this morning!
I cringe at the crap orangey stuff mac n cheese. So I made a big pot of the homemade kind (consuming yes good even better) then divide the stuff up in a lightly greased muffin tin and freeze. Once frozen you pop them out and put in a freezer safe bag or container. The silicon muffin cups work even better, because they don't need to be greased. I used this technique when pureeing foods for the baby and I could also sneak the purees in your recipes. My muffin cups hold 1/4 cup so it made measuring and portioning easy too!
ReplyDeletei do pancakes too, when i make my organic chicken and dumpling i freeze that too

We have frozen pancakes before too! My mom always cut up leftover cake and froze it for treats later. I have made pudding and jello as well. We just recently started making our own baby food (thank you for your link earlier I enjoyed reading it). Chicken broth is another thing that I have made and put in the fridge as well:) We have made our own egg rolls and put them in the refrigerator for the week, my husbands favorite. I can't think of anything else.
ReplyDeletemy kids are the same way with pancakes when I make them I make in bulk and freeze also. for a treat when Daddy comes home for lunch tomorrow (our breakfast) he is bringing McDonald's pancakes
