Smartipants Diaper

I recently went to Gumballs and Overalls in Rockford, MI. They sell a variety of gently used clothing, handmade crafts, and best of all cloth diapers. I went with all intentions of getting a Smartipants diaper. I searched and searched and found 2 of them. The lady told me they were pretty popular there. I found a yellow one and a pink one so I decided to go with the yellow one! I could not wait to get it home and into the washing machine to try it on Kaiden!

The diaper as you can see has the snaps to adjustable rise from small to large size. It snaps together at the top with 2 snaps. It has a smart sleeve that you slide the insert into it. I slide my hand through the hole and pull the insert through it and it is so easy to do. Some diapers it sticks to the PUL and it’s so hard to get it through this one is so easy and I love it! The snaps are really easy to do and the best part of it is that my son being 18 months old likes to take his diapers off and the snaps are strong enough he cannot pull them apart.

The diaper is very trim even with adding an extra liner for extra protection. I do not need to add an extra liner Kaiden is not a heavy wetter all the time but I did this just to show you that the diaper is not at all bulky. He has a skinny build and I was able to adjust the rise just enough to get it tight around the waist and tight around his legs to that there was no leaking! As you can see in the following pictures this diaper has a very nice fit!

You can find more information on the diaper here. Very helpful website and very informational. Smartipants diapers feature Leak-Guard Technology, keeping moisture contained, and your baby dry. The diapers are made with “breathable” fibers and are free from any chemicals or irritants. Smartipants reusable diapers are designed to grow with your baby from newborn to toddler, babies 7lbs - 35lbs. The diapers run $14.95 and come with one liner inside the diaper. You can also purchase the liners. You can purchase in bundles too at a discounted price!

My view on the diapers:

PROS: I LOVE them! Very comparable to the bumgenius 4.0 diapers. I think they are easier to stuff then the 4.0 diapers. The poo really does slide right off the inside of the diaper because of the material it’s made of! I left Kaiden in the diaper with the extra liner in it for 4 hours because we were out and he did not have a leak. It was pretty wet but no leaks. I would recommend the diaper to anyone! You must know that I am a HIGH bumgenius organic AIO user so I really am hesitant to try anything different but I really like this diaper!

CONS: I really do not like the way the material feels on my dry hands on the inside of the diaper that is the only flaw that I do not like

  1. I LOVE the Smartipants diapers! I am new to cloth diapering and after doing a trial program, this was the type I went with for the majority of my stash. So far I have been so happy! They hold up well, don't leak, fit great and best of all are very affordable.. especially fod having the majority of the features that the more expensive diapers have!
